Welcome!

We are excited that you are joining us in our journey as a new community school in Palatine, IL. Our journey began in October 2015 when Partners for Our Communities (POC), who oversees the program, and Community Consolidated School District 15 joined forces to offer educational programs to the families and students of District 15. Today we count on the collaborative efforts of the POC, School District 15 and the ICOMPETE program.

The Palatine Community School project brings together the academic and social support needed to ensure that all students succeed by offering a variety of programs after the school day. The programs are available not only to students but to their families as well. Our community school is designed to support local academic programs and expand services offered within the community. We offer a combination of academic enrichment activities, tutoring and mentoring, technology training, culture and arts awareness, STEM curriculum,  recreation, and health services to famlies.

At this time, Winston Campus junior high students are able to stay after school and attend the Palatine Community School from 4:00pm to 6:30pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.  We also have special programs where parents and caregivers come along side our students to learn together. Child care is provided for siblings who are too young to participate.

We work with local community agencies in providing field trips for our students. We are currently working on bussing for certain field trips.

In the future, we hope to expand our hours of operation and the scope of our programs in an effort to provide community school services throughout the entire year. Currently we rely on a grant from United Way - MC, volunteers from Partners for Our Communities, space and program support provided by Community Consolidated School District 15, and donated items from local business. We welcome any donations that help make the future brighter for at risk youth in our community school. For donations, contact Partners for Our Communiites, a local 501C (3), non-profit community center who oversees the POC Community School. All donations are tax deductible.
